In this role you will work as part of a team responsible for facilities-based systems, including but not limited to, surveillance, door control, building automation, and telecommunication. This work includes all aspects of planning, installation, and support of the aforementioned systems, including supporting desktop PCs, servers, network devices, storage solutions, and surveillance-specific equipment. Install, configure, maintain, and monitor multiple state-wide networks.

Work is performed at nearly 200 locations, state-wide, including many secure sites, often independently. Day travel required, and long days are common.

NOTE -- Contractor will have an initial meeting at the central office to get their ID, fingerprints, and pick up their PC.  Once they start, they will be working remotely during "safer at home" order. Once order is lifted, contractor will be expected to work on-site full time

TARGET PROFILES

  • #1 - Access control hardware/software 5+ years. Cable/Fiber Management 3+ years. Willing to work onsite in Madison, WI once Safer-at-Home restrictions are lifted, and to travel within the state.
  • SKILLS - CORE:

  • Access Control -- Hardware and Software
  • Experience with wireless networking
  • Is the candidate willing, if requested, to authorize background checks and/or education checks as part of selection process?
  • This position is telecommute due to Covid-19. Candidate is willing and able to work onsite in Madison, WI once circumstances allow.
  • Post Covid 19 restrictions candidate is willing to travel onsite to corrections facilitites wthin the State.
  • SKILLS - MAJORITY REQUIRED:

  • Create & modify system documentation: Intermediate MS Visio, SharePoint
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience troubleshooting technology support issues
  • Cable/Fiber Management
  • Experience in maintaining Windows operating systems and hardware
  • Install new hardware and software
