In this role you will serve as an expert in defining, researching, and devising appropriate geospatial technology components (tools, data, methodologies), and relating that to business oriented requirements that can be integrated into an enterprise information system architecture that will optimize geospatial application and data utilization. The position role provides an effective interface with business customers (e.g.: non-IT program staff and managers) and applies direction and leadership to other professional IS/GIS staff deployed in program, agency and/or enterprise project work. This includes providing advice, assistance and serving as the primary liaison contact coordinating and consulting on geospatial systems development and formulating business requirements related to strategic plans and technical work plans that identify and incorporate information technology outcomes. Assisting in project planning and preparing high level business status reports for management are also functions of this position responsibility.

  • #1 - Esri ArcGIS 5+ years. WordPress or SquareSpace. Interest and knowledge of flora and fauna of estuarine, coastal, and/or lake environments preferred. 3+ years.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, construct and implement geospatial tools to organize and share a broad range of physical, ecological, and cultural data
  • Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and other Esri products
  • WordPress or SquareSpace

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and customize clear web design using accessible low-cost tools such as WordPress or Square Space, including basic graphic design and hosting applicability
  • Experience developing an intuitive user interface with a wide array of geospatial tools and formats, including Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and other Esri products.
  • Experience working independently while collecting input from and coordinating with a diverse team, excellent communication skills needed.

  • Google search engine optimization
  • Experience with cataloging and database management.
  • Experience working with one of Heʻeia Reserve’s local environments (either St. Louis River Estuary or Hawai`i), and/or the NOAA/NERR System.
